Mid Severn Valley Group

The group operates in the county of Worcestershire and is part of The Radio Amateurs Emergency Network, Zone 9.  The group participates in numerous charity events throughout the year providing radio communications on behalf of the user service involved in the event. E.g. St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, Police, Fire, Ambulance etc. These events act as self training exercises to prepare ourselves for our role in assisting County Emergency Planning and the user services in the event of a major civil disaster. However, we do try to enjoy ourselves at the same time! BLOSSOM BIKE RIDE

This year's ride is starting from BBC Wood Norton, Evesham as usual, yet again organised by the St. John Ambulance but this year from the hotel.  It is on Sunday April 26th. 08.45 to 17.00. User service is SJA. Volunteers as usual contact G8WOX, G6DQM or G1OZB.

STOURPORT RAFT RACE

Date confirmed
This year's race is starting from Arley and finishing at Stourport boat club and is organised by the Lions as usual. It is on Sunday May 10th.  09.00 to 17.00. User service is West Mercia Police. Volunteers as usual contact G8WOX, G6DQM or G1OZB.

BEWDLEY CARNIVAL

Date confirmed

This year's carnival is starting from Hales Park and finishing at Bewdley Leisure Centre as usual. It is on Saturday June 6th. 12.00 to 15.00. User service is West Mercia Police. We will need extra operators this year as the Police are no longer running the event. They will provide a presence but will only help if requested by organisers on matters of safety. The organisers are now responsible for road closures and marshals so more communication points are needed. Volunteers as usual contact G8WOX, G6DQM or G1OZB.
