Mid Severn Valley Group
The group operates in the county of Worcestershire and is part of The Radio Amateurs Emergency Network, Zone 9. The group participates in numerous charity events throughout the year providing radio communications on behalf of the user service involved in the event. E.g. St. John Ambulance, Red Cross, Police, Fire, Ambulance etc. These events act as self training exercises to prepare ourselves for our role in assisting County Emergency Planning and the user services in the event of a major civil disaster. However, we do try to enjoy ourselves at the same time! The Lions are trying for Severn Trent reservoir as the only other possible launch
site. Awaiting confirmation.

Stourport boat club and is organised by the Lions as usual. It is on Sunday May 13th.

This year's carnival is starting from Hales Park and finishing at Bewdley Leisure Centre as usual. It is on Saturday June 16th. 12.00 to 15.00. User service is West Mercia Police. The Police will provide a presence but will only help if requested by organisers on matters of safety. The organisers are now responsible for road closures and marshals so more communication points are needed. Volunteers as usual contact G8WOX, G6DQM or G1OZB.
